FAQ
What is Midi?
Midi is a simple to use free file hosting service. It lets you share your photos, music, and videos with others online.
What is Midi NOT?
Midi is NOT your personal CDN. Our connection speed is not the fastest and we are hosted for free, so be gentile with the number of requests. Midi is also NOT your backup solution. While we have redundancy built in, we are not responsible for keeping all the data uploaded to Midi safe. If a catastrophic failure occurs, we can't guarantee that all files uploaded will be retained.
What types of files are allowed?
Image, audio and video files are allowed on Midi. These include things such as png, webm, jpg, mp3 etc.
What works are allowed?
Midi welcomes uploading all works, as long as the work is legal in the United States and you have the legal right to publish the work on our service.
As an exception to this policy to prevent abuse, we do not allow malware on our service. Any malware that could be used to infect other computers may be removed from our service at our discretion.
Do you keep logs of uploaded works?
We don't collect or log any data of our users in respect for privacy. We only have files uploaded by our users.
Is Midi backed up?
Midi is backed up nightly offsite.
Where is Midi hosted?
Nice try. Midi is hosted in a garage, running on hardware I pulled from a dumpster so once again, be gentile. The front-end of Midi is hosted in "The Cloud" and more back-end nodes may be added depending on resources required. "The Cloud" isn't cheap, so if you are interested in potentially hosting the front-end of Midi.moe then please contact me, or donate if you feel so inclined.
Can you remove my copyrighted work?
Please submit your copyright takedown notice to shikabe@cock.li. We will handle your notice within 24 hours and disable access to the infringing work after receiving a proper DMCA takedown notice.
Can you remove works that are defaming me or otherwise infringing my non-copyright rights?
Midi respects takedowns for other works when accompanied with a certified US court order. If you are unable to obtain the order, a preliminary injuction or court order is typically also sufficient. Please forward the notice to shikabe@cock.li.
Can you remove illegal works?
Please contact the appropriate law enforcement agency if you notice illegal works hosted on midi.moe. We have not been trained or qualified to investigate and fight crimes and enforce the law, so it's not appropriate to send accusations of illegal activity to us. You must contact the appropriate law enforcement office. They may then contact us if appropriate.
If you are an US law enforcement official and you need our assistance, please contact shikabe@cock.li. If you are a law enforcement official from another country, we may voluntarily cooperate if the crime you are investigating would also be illegal in the United States.
